On safari, it is advisable to dress in natural colors like browns, beiges and khaki. Shorts or trousers and short-sleeved shirts/blouses or t-shirt, in cotton, are generally preferable. A pullover may come in handy in the evenings or early mornings, especially in the northern circuit.

Comfortable walking shoes are ideal in the bush, especially for walking safaris.

Sunglasses, hat, suntan lotion, freshen – up towels and mosquito repellant cream are practical items to take along.

A camera, plenty if film, replacement batteries and binoculars are a must.

A torch is essential for camping safaris.

Baggage should be kept to a minimum. Soft bags are best. Safaris provide accommodation in comfortable, well-equipped lodges, most of which offer excellent views of the bush. Superb meals and warm hospitality relieve the tiredness after the game drive. Safari vehicle are specially designed with individual window seats and most have open-roof facility. Guides and drivers are well experienced and speak English.
